Welcome to the forums, Veronica!

Here’s a site you may find helpful: alberlet.hu
It lists apartments available for rent. The search box on the left hand side has a ‘university’ option designed for students. You can select the university you’ll be attending from a list and it will show you available apartments in the neighborhood. The site is available in English and Hungarian.

About life in the city check out our Expats & Students page, it has useful info, like news in English, English language bookshops, libraries, cultural institutions and so on. Plus, our Getting Around page should also come in handy at the beginning.

Enjoy Budapest!

Hey Veronica,

You should check this out: http://RoomMatesBudapest.com
A lot of international students in Hungary use it for finding apartments, flatmates and buying and selling 2nd hand or services.

Or, when you get to the city you can check in your university, usually the universities have students accommodations in Budapest, or at least some kind of dorms, which although are a bit farther, they are still in the city center..

Good luck in Budapest! smile
