I will be spending 10 days in Budapest. I would like to see as much as possible. Should I rent a car? Any recommendations?

Welcome to the forums, paul allen!

Budapest is a walking city and it also has an excellent transportation system. Traffic jams are frequent and it can be difficult to find parking, so if you plan to stay in the city you don’t need a car.

However, if you are feeling adventurous, I would definitely recommend a trip to the countryside. In this case it’s a good idea to rent a car and discover Hungary on your own. Most major rental companies have locations in Budapest and you can shop for the best car rental rates online. You can get rates as low as US $ 20 - 25 per day, depending on when you rent.
