Design Terminal’s unique Bauhaus style building in Erzsébet tér was built in 1949 and it served as a bus depot for over 50 years. Today, the building gives home to a conference room, a pavilion, a rooftop terrace and a Restaurant & Bar.
Design Terminal features design and fashion related exhibitions, fashion shows, design conferences, educational activities for kids and many other programs along the lines of design and innovation. Design Terminal’s mission is to represent all kinds of “creative industries” and to promote Hungarian design brands at home and abroad. Industrial design, fashion, urbanism and innovative technologies are the various fields supported by the design center.
Terminal Restaurant & Bar, located on the 1st floor, serves Hungarian and fusion cuisine. It's a great choice for some late night bites, as it’s open until midnight (until 3 am Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays). Market, located within the restaurant, carries Hungarian wine and a selection of organically farmed products, cheese, jam, honey, herbs and spices.
