Ruszwurm, opened in 1827, is one of the oldest pastry shops in Budapest. It's small and it's often difficult to get a table, but it still offers a great experience. Its history and Buda Castle location garantee its popularity.

Ruszwurm is owned and operated by the Szamos family, a famous confectionary dynasty. They make delicious cakes and pastries. The interior retains some of the 1840s Empire-style furniture. Outdoor seating is also available.

    Worth blowing your diet

Yum….. a tiny little place that is big on treats. Delicious pastries and a cup of coffee make you want to stay for hours. I think I gained 5 pounds sampling all the goodies and it was worth it.  Thank goodness the lovely area is great for walking off the calories.

Cute little café on Castle hill

The inside of the café is small and tight, so the best choice is to get an outdoor table, if possible. Delicious cakes, good coffee.
