Café Noé, a tiny pastry shop in the heart of the old Jewish quarter, specializes in traditional Jewish desserts. Matzo apple cake, flódni, beigli and yeast-risen babka are some of the house specialties. Bagel sandwiches - with smoked salmon and camembert fillings -, salads, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks are also available.
Owner/confectioner Rachel Raj, daughter of a local rabbi, is known for her delicious Jewish cakes and pastries. Be sure to try her flódni, a rich apple, walnut, and poppy seed pastry, which is probably the best in town.
