Borkonyha (Winekitchen) is one of the newest additions to the Budapest restaurant scene. It's a modern bistro with a great selection (over 200 different types) of Hungarian wine, including some unique local varieties. The kitchen serves updated Hungarian cuisine with a twist. The menu is compact complimented by several daily specials listed on the board on the wall. Deservedly popular, the place gets full quickly, so be sure to reserve a table.

After 4 dinners in Borkonyha, it is still delicious, but what a pity the waiter did not mention the wine he was pouring was not the one we ordered! Of course it was more expensive. The same kind (pinot noir) but “better” he explained when asked for explanation when paying the bill… Not a nice way to treat the clients… And quite miserable way to raise the bill. Plus you cannot show your disappointment by pulling the tip down: it is counted in the bill…
