The Four Seasons Budapest combines intuitive service that one comes to expect from the Four Seasons brand, with panoramic views of the Danube, Castle Hill, Chain Bridge and the Buda hills. Gresham Palace, the building that houses the hotel is one of the most exquisite Art Nouveau landmarks in Budapest. When the Four Seasons Hotel chain bought it, the building was restored to its original glory, ensuring that every detail complies with the Art Nouveau style and also conforms to all the high standards that Four Seasons Hotels are known for. As an example the mosaic floor in the lobby, consisting of thousands of pieces had to be redone several times, until it perfectly matched the original design. The staff is extremely attentive and polite, without being overbearing. If we had any qualms about the hotel, it's that Internet access is only available for a fee.
There is a restaurant and a lounge onsite. The Gresham Restaurant offers both international and Hungarian cuisine. Part of hotel's lounge, The Bar, is in the historic Páva Udvar (Peacock Passage). The Peacock Passage is where horse drawn carriages entered the building to transport the social elite who used to live here before the war.
Location and Things to Do
The Four Seasons Budapest is in a prime location. The Danube Promenade, the Basilica, Vaci Street, Vorosmarty Square, the Chain Bridge and many restaurants and shops are all a short walk away.
The Four Seasons Gresham Palace won Tripadvisor’s Best Luxury Award in 2009. Follow the link to read more about the history of Gresham Palace. Also, please note that the Páva restaurant is no longer open.
