The Palace of Arts presents its critically acclaimed sell-out concert series of Wagner’s work: Tannhäuser, Siegfried, Das Rheingold and Die Walküre.
In 2012 the festival is accompanied by the Tannhäuser in Budapest exhibition (June 3 - 20), presenting a look back at the Tannhäuser performances over the years. Tannhäuser was first performed at the Budapest Opera House in its first season, in February 1885. Since then the opera has seen a total of 552 performances in Budapest, with the greatest singers from both Hungary and abroad taking the stage.
