Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Liszt’s Birth
2011 is dedicated to Ferenc Liszt (1811-1886) the celebrated Hungarian piano virtuoso, composer and music teacher of the 19th century. The Liszt Year brings several concerts and exhibitions to Budapest.
Liszt 2011 Programs
The Liszt Year celebrates the bicentennial of the composer’s birth and introduces the many talents of Ferenc Liszt, a musician and a citizen of the world, who always remained true to his Hungarian identity, his religion, his students and his fans. The yearlong series of concerts and exhibitions explore both the musician and his music.
