Contemporary dancers, international artists and traditional Hungarian folk dancers meet every June in Budapest to celebrate the joy of dance. In addition to the many dance performances the carnival's program includes a Carnival Parade between the Danube Promenade and Vörösmarty tér, an international dance competition and a spectacular gala event.
In 2015, Danube Carnival celebrates its 20th anniversary. This year’s festive program brings together some 2,000 artists, representing 16 nations. It also features the best performances and the most successful dance groups of the past two decades. There will be 80 different programs during the 2-week-long event.
