More than twenty pálinka (a type of Hungarian brandy) distillers and renowned sausage makers participate at this unique and very Hungarian gastronomic event, held annually in one of the most beautiful spots in Budapest, Castle Hill. The festival offers a combination of the best in pálinka, great food and entertainment. Visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to be the first to taste this year’s new pálinka distillates.
Each year the festival welcomes a guest country. In 2011 Russia has been invited to participate and visitors will have a chance to sample Russia’s national drink, the vodka. At the Russian corner everyone interested can learn about the secrets of vodka production and the customs of vodka drinking.
Sausage and pálinka go well together, so be sure to visit one of the sausage stands and sample their homemade products, such as Gyulai and Csabai kolbász.
