The Budapest Bread Festival joins a line-up of new culinary festivals for 2012. About 50 bakeries, pastry shops and artisan bakeries from all over Hungary will be offering a variety of baked goods, including fresh loafs, pogácsa, ginger bread, kürtőskalács, and more. The festival also features live music, folk dance and plenty of programs for kids.
The festival is designed to reflect the diversity of bread, baked goods and pastries produced in Hungary. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample a variety of freshly baked specialities on offer.
The three-day long event is held on Castle Hill, in front of the Royal Palace. It's free to enter the festival.
