Celebrating 20 years of great vintages in Budapest
Hungarians are passionate about wine. Did you know that Hungary has 22 wine regions and that the Hungarian language is one of only two European languages, which has its own word for ‘wine’ (bor) that is not derived from Latin? Wine is of such importance to Hungarians that it's mentioned in Hungary’s national anthem.
You can sample some of Hungary's best vintages and learn more about Hungarian wine at the 20th Budapest International Wine Festival, on now until Sunday, September 11. This is undoubtedly the most popular event of its kind in Budapest and it brings together wine lovers and wine makers from all over the country. The festival is open for two more days, so there is still plenty of time to go. Here are some photos to whet your appetite.
