Looking for some ice time in Budapest?
If you feel like hitting the ice on a brisk winter evening Budapest has several options, including Europe's largest outdoor skating rink.
City Park Ice Rink (Városligeti Műjégpálya)
The lake in front of Vajdahunyad Castle is used for boating in the summer and is transformed into Europe's largest outdoor ice-skating rink in the winter. Imagine skating at the foot of a Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque castle - all at once. It's an impressive venue where all of Budapest skates. Being an open-air facility, the ice rink is open from mid-November until the end of February. Skates can be rented.
In 2011, the newly renovated ice-skating rink is set to open on December 16th. Admission is HUF 1,300.

Ice Terrace
This outdoor skating rink is located on the roof of the WestEnd City Center Shopping Mall making it the perfect place to shop and skate. Admission is HUF 1,100 on weekdays (HUF 800 for children) and HUF 1,300 on weekends (HUF 900 for children). Skates can be rented.

Budai Ice Rink (Budai Jégpálya)
This small, indoor ice rink, located opposite the Mammut II Shopping Mall, is open to the general public on weekends only. During the week it's used by sports teams for training.

Marczibányi Sport Centrum
This sport center, located next to the Millenáris, has an indoor ice rink that is open daily.

Hungexpo, Building 'C'
From the beginning of November to the end of February Building 'C' at the Budapest Fair Center is transformed into an indoor ice-skating rink.
