Secrets of the Jewish Quarter Tour Details
This tour reveals the hidden treasures of Budapest's former Jewish Quarter. Along the way you will see some wonderful sights and architecture and learn about Jewish history and culture in Budapest. You'll also learn about 'Hungary's Schindler', Carl Lutz, who worked as a deputy consul at Budapest's Swiss Embassy from 1942 to 1945 and saved the life of thousands of Jews. Walking past cemeteries, synagogues, small shops and workshops, restaurants and cafés - all mementos that hint to Pest's once prosperous Jewish life, you'll also get a glimpse into the ever-evolving life of 'ruin-pubs'.
